Hello. My name is Alan Seymour, and live in Lancashire. Welcome to my Natural History photographic site. I've been interested in natural history since a small boy, really and owe this to my grand father who was very keen on fishing, wildlife and nature. We would fish and walk for miles, spotting deer, foxes, badgers and birds in the woodlands and commons in and around Surrey were I grew up. Quite a few years ago now 1993 I watched the I.T.V's First Tuesday Documentary The Secret Of Happiness about Exmoor's Wildlife Camera man Johnny Kingdom (Before Johnny was well known out side of Exmoor) I recorded it and watched it many many times, (and still do) It made me think Wow this chap is useing a shop bought camcorder no high tech film camera just off the shelf. So off to collage I went. I completed the City Guilds Natural History photographic module and that gave me a big help. My chosen format would be still film as I had been taking photographs of various subjects with quit a lot of success for years and had quite a lot of still camera gear. as the digital age progressed and I had more time and was able to get better equipment the quality of my photographs got better. I would now like to get into the video side, I have had a little play with quite good results on a old video camera so all I can say is Watch This Space!!!!! On this site you will find photographs of Wild Birds, Mammals, Butterflies, Flowers, Landscaps, Sunsets and Rivers, and anything else I may find of interest related to natural history. Please Feel free to comment. All Photograph on this site can be used or purchased. Contact me first via E-mail photos@alanseymour.com
I hope you enjoy visiting my site and return again soon. Thank You Alan Seymour. |

I nipped up to WWT Martin Mere (Sat 30th Jan 2010) for an hour, The sun was lovely and about noon I knew it would be on the bushes I wanted to use, I had about 3/4 hours before it moves round and off my spot. Well I was not disappointed, I had some really nice shots, Reed Buntings, Robins, Blue Tits but most of all I was well pleased with was the Goldfinch, he was only about for a few second, so I had to be quick. I had not photographed one in sun shine before.
Cheers Alan S.
